One Good Turn by Carla Kelly
reviewed by Lola Sparks

I am really not a fan of Regency romances, and yet, I'm hooked on Carla Kelly. There is something different about her books. From page one, I'm sucked in and can't get out until I turn the final page.

One Good Turn is no exception. If you've read Libby's London Merchant, then you'll be familiar with Benedict Nesbitt (or Nez as everyone thinks of him, which means "nose," which I found terribly amusing). It's time for Nez to find his one true lady love, and she certainly cannot be the dripping wet woman he rescues from the side of the road.

His dislike for Liria is thick. In addition to class barriers, they'll have cultural barriers to overcome as well. She's Spanish, he's British, and it's not an easy pairing. Factor in the third seige of Badajoz, and you've got a book full of heartache. Couples in Kelly's books rarely come together neatly--perhaps that is one thing I enjoy so much about them.
